Matt Getz started Black & White photography with his dad in 1970 when he was 8 years old. He was given his Dad's old Nikon F from that era, and has always looked at photography as an artform since that early time.
In College, and later Matt Getz has taken photographs everywhere including self portraits.
In 1995, Matt needed to photograph his Concert Posters for his Wings of Light Catalog. He rented a Nikon N90, and has ramped up his skills to learn lighting, both technical and artistic. He had entered the moden age of automatic SLR's.
In 1998, Matt did a photo session with the art model Sarah that he had regurarly made drawings of. The first 4 photo's are below. He has photographed other models, including 2 at Cole Weston's workshop in 2000, and has recently photographed a model Elle on the Beach in Laguna in 2000, and in the Eastern Sierras, Death Valley and Las Vegas this past May, 2002. A new Model Tiffany, of photo's taken at Kim Weston's Wildcat Hill House in Carmel will be added soon.
All photographs are hand printed by Matt. They are all 8x10" on Fibre Paper, Archivally Processed for Longevity and Selenium Toned for quality. They are mounted on 100% Cotton Rag Mat, Museum Board.
